Kathryn Ann Hill

KATHRYN ANN HILL is a writer of Christian poetry. She was born on 20 January 1952, in Auburn, Alabama, to the Reverend Vernon H. Boriack and Georgia Mae McQuown. Kathryn was made a member of the Body of Christ through Holy Baptism on 24 February 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Auburn, Alabama. She received instruction in the Holy Scriptures and the Small Catechism and was admitted to the Lord’s Supper on Palm Sunday, 3 April 1966, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Bloomington, Illinois. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and the Humanities from Valparaiso University. On 25 August 1974, Kathryn wed Michael James Hill at Valparaiso University’s Chapel of the Resurrection. They live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and have two adult sons and three grandchildren.
Since 2003, Kathryn has published over ninety poems in various periodicals, including The Cresset, Logia, and Lutheran Forum. She has written nine books of poetry. Her first book, a set of meditations in verse on the triptychs of Biblia pauperum, is entitled Rich in Grace: The Bible of the Poor for 21st-Century Christians. It was published by American Lutheran Publicity Bureau (www.alpb.org) in 2007. The first appearance of one of her hymns in a hymnal was “As you yearn for Bethlehem” in Sing Unto the Lord (ACNA, 2023).
